From Investment to Citizenship in Portugal
The most crucial step in reaching the ten-year mark to apply for citizenship is to maintain your investment throughout the initial five-year period, providing accurate documents that detail this as and when required by Portuguese officials. Once you gain Portuguese permanent residency, the investment no longer needs to be maintained and you will no longer have a minimum stay requirement. After two years of residency, you will need to renew for a further three years of residency in Portugal before being eligible to apply for citizenship 10 years after the issuance of your first residency permit.
